Portugal (Porto / Norte)
Reference-quality preset: a phonetic matrix and a short blurb, not a full flagship build-out. See a flagship variety (Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Panama) for situations, cultural context, sayings, and a guided path.
Portugal · Porto / North
Northern Portuguese is best known for betacism, the historic b/v merger (a lexical/segmental trait the current schema has no dedicated field for, so it isn't phonetically rendered here -- noted for the record, not modeled). What *is* modeled: Porto keeps the alveolar trill rather than adopting Lisbon's uvular R, and resists Lisbon's heaviest unstressed-vowel reduction.
