Azorean Portuguese is documented as having a notably different vowel quality from mainland Lisbon -- less of Lisbon's extreme schwa-like reduction -- which is also why the Azorean settlers of Florianópolis (see the Brazilian preset library) left their chiado behind but not Lisbon's full reduction system.
